Paris-based boutique Laffitte Capital Management has announced the appointment of merger arbitrage specialist Bertrand Dardenne as portfolio manager, bolstering its merger arbitrage expertise in Europe and North America.
Two other portfolio-analysts will further join the French manager since their recruitment is in process, the firm said.
Among others, Dardenne will collaborate on the France-domiciled fund Lafitte Risk Arbitrage Ucits strategy, which will merge into a sub-fund of the firm’s Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav Laffitte Funds as from 2 October 2017 in order to meet investor demand and facilitate distribution in Europe.
Prior to joining Laffite Capital Management, Dardenne was head of Analyst in charge of merger arbitrage at Burren Capital Advisors and also worked for JP Morgan in London.
The company runs three Ucits strategies : Laffitte Risk Arbitrage Ucits, Laffitte Dynamic Strategies, Laffitte Diversified Return and mandates.
Laffitte Capital Management had €360m of assets under management as of end of June 2017.
