In a statement, Duet said the decision to acquire Merit Capital followed the reorganisation of the group in to 3 business units. The group purchases stakes in asset managers focusing on private equity, hedge/long-only fund and wealth management.

Founded in 2002, Duet Group has offices in London (HQ), New York, New Delhi and Accra while Merit Capital has been established in 2001.
