Paris-based boutique Mandarine Gestion has appointed Thierry Le Clercq as senior European equity portfolio manager.
Le Clercq will take responsibility for the management of Mandarine Opportunités and will be a co-portfolio manager on the Mandarine Active fund.
He joins Mandarine from Allianz Global Investors where he spent 13 years working first as European equity analyst then as European equity portfolio manager.
Le Clercq held analyst roles at Fideuram Wargny, focusing on financials, and Exane where he began his career in 1999, on French small and mid-caps.
Marc Renaud, chief executive officer of Mandarine Gestion, said the hire of experienced managers such as Thierry Le Clercq aims to speed up the boutique’s growth on its core expertise: conviction equity management.
Mandarine Gestion has €3.9bn of assets under management with French clients accounting for 67% of the firm’s AUM and the 33% coming from international clients.
