Joining InvestmentEurope’s exciting lineup of speakers at the Professional Investor Forum Netherlands taking place on 8 October is Stuart Thomson of Ignis.
With an eye to low real yields and asset class performance, the event will consider factors such as the impact of central bank rate policies on investors. Recovery from the great financial crisis – and in Europe, the eurozone sovereign debt crisis – continues. Low real yields continue to challenge all investors.
Joining InvestmentEurope‘s exciting lineup of speakers to consider the challenges and opportunities in this environment is Stuart Thomson, chief economist and co-manager of the Ignis Absolute Return Government Bond fund (pictured).
With the current environment in mind, Thomson will discuss his views on how asset returns may be affected by a rising real interest rate environment.
With the US Federal Reserve preparing for tapering of its quantitative easing programme, investors will need to adjust to a period that may be characterised by volatility and rising real yields. In turn this implies a need for diversification and accurate portfolio construction to maintain risk-adjusted returns.
Stuart Thomson is a veteran of the investment industry, with over 27 years of experience. Prior to Ignis he held roles with more than half a dozen firms, including Nikko Europe, Chase Manhattan Bank, Credit Agricole Indosuez, RIO and Charles Stanley Sutherlands.
