Schroders taps Amex for key German hire

Schroders has hired Tanja Engel from American Express to be the asset manager’s chief operating officer in Frankfurt.

Schroders has hired Tanja Engel from American Express to be the asset manager’s chief operating officer in Frankfurt.

She will be responsible for business areas including compliance, IT, planning and control.

She will report to Schroders’ managing director in Germany, Achim Küssner.

Before joining the €228bn diversified investor, Engel worked for seven years at American Express, latterly as head of the tax department, responsible for all tax matters in the Frankfurt office.

She has also worked at Reuters AG, for seven years.
