Candriam makes Switzerland push

Candriam has appointed Thomas Kälin as senior client relationship manager for the wholesale distribution and institutional market.

Based in Zurich, Kälin will report to Jörg Allenspach, executive officer of Candriam Switzerland, who took office at the beginning of the year.

Prior to joining Candriam, Kälin was client director for GAM AG in Zurich since 2004 and was responsible for the wholesale segment (banks, insurance companies, FA/family offices and other platforms). Before that he worked at Credit Suisse, in Sales and Product functions. He started his career at Bank Leu AG in 1999 as portfolio manager.

As at the end of June 2018, Candriam Switzerland’s assets under management amounted to over CHF3bn, up 27% over the year. Responsible investing strategies have been a resounding success this past year, raising more than CHF430m in net inflows (year-on-year). Another important source of collection in Switzerland has been emerging equity strategies, with more than CHF120m. The results in Switzerland reflect Candriam’s overall results, with a recorded growth of +68% in 4 years. Candriam’s assets under management have now exceeded CHF130bn.
