Bankinter’s management board – on the proposal of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee – has appointed Teresa Martín-Retortillo as an independent external adviser for the bank.
The mandate, established for a period of four years, is pending of approval until it gets ratification from the next general shareholders’ meeting.

With this appointment, the Board of Directors of Bankinter is composed of 10 members, of which five are independent external directors.
Before being appointed by Bankinter, Martín-Retortillo worked as executive president of IE Exponential Learning (IE’s executive education division). Prior to this, she was senior vice president of Strategy and Development at McGraw-Hill Education in the US. She formerly worked as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in London.
“The appointment of Martín-Retortillo will make a positive contribution to the bank’s management board, given her knowledge and extensive international experience in the financial field, strategic vision of the company, as well as the capacity for innovation and digital transformation”, Bankinter said.
