New York-based global institutional fixed income asset manager Stone Harbor Investment Partners has launched the Emerging Markets Explorer Strategy, consisting of a concentrated, high conviction, unconstrained strategy in emerging markets debt.
Following a total return approach, the Emerging Markets Explorer Strategy, managed by Stone Harbor’s EM team headed by James Craige, primarily invests in fixed income securities selected from the emerging markets debt asset classes of hard currency sovereign debt, corporate credit, local duration and EM FX.
Investment ideas in the portfolio are selected after a fundamental credit analysis complemented by top-down macro views.
“The EM Explorer Strategy aims to provide opportunities for investing in improving credit stories, monetary policy cycles, attractive FX valuation themes and technically-related undervalued credit” said Kumaran Damodaran, portfolio manager at Stone Harbor Investment Partners.
Stone Harbor Investment Partners was founded in 2006.
