Aberdeen Standard Investments has promoted two people from the firm’s team in Spain.
Álvaro Antón has been promoted from senior responsible for the firm’s business development to the new general director of Aberdeen Standard Investments for Iberia, to be responsible for the firm’s business plans in the markets across Spain, Andorra and Portugal.
The company has also promoted Ana Guzmán from head of Southern Europe-distribution to independent strategic adviser for the firm’s business in Southern Europe. Guzmán, who will combine this new position with another project outside the company, will help to boost Aberdeen’s business development in that region.
Antón started his career at the asset management division of Aberdeen in 1999 based in London. After that, he worked for various companies including PwC Madrid or AON Accuracy among others. In 2013 he went back to Aberdeen AM, co-founding the firm’s Spanish arm alongside Ana Guzmán.
Guzmán joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2013 too from Dekabank where she worked as Spain country head after having worked as director of institutional sales for Spain. She started her career as fixed income and fund of funds manager working at March Gestión and Caja España Fondos in 2004.
