Candriam Investors announces the launch of a new robotics and innovative technology strategy which has been designed to invest in companies within the technology and robotics space developing innovative products which positively impact the future.
The robotics strategy is the latest addition to Candriam’s thematic strategies which already include specialist funds in demography and biotechnology. Thematic funds allow investors to capitalise on long-term socio-economic trends. The investment process of the new strategy is based on a bottom-up high conviction approach focussing on companies with above average revenue growth, strong competitive positioning and innovative technologies. Stocks are selected from a worldwide equity universe, resulting in a high conviction portfolio with a maximum of 50 companies selected.
“Advanced robots will be the cornerstone of the fourth industrial revolution, a technology one which, like earlier industrial revolutions, will generate substantial wealth for far-sighted investors”, said Johan Van Der Biest, who manages the new strategy.
“We are only at 20% to 30% into what will be possible in the field of robotics. Pretty soon we will see the integration of smart, internet-connected machines facilitating our daily lives.”
Technological innovation is happening at a speed that has never been observed before. The roadmap for world-changing new applications has never been as obvious and this will result in superior earnings growth for the industry. The use of Machine Learning and artificial intelligence, big data technology, transition to the public cloud, increased use of OLED, virtual reality, 5G technology, internet of things, advanced robotics, programmatic advertising are just a few examples of exciting trends the strategy is investing in.
