Italy’s Mediobanca has announced the appointment of Emilio Franco as chief executive officer (CEO) of Mediobanca SGR, the asset management arm of Mediobanca Group.
Mediobanca’s AM division is currently under the name of Duemme SGR, pending completion of the Banca Esperia group’s merger into Mediobanca.
Franco joins Mediobanca from the Italian asset manager UBI Pramerica, where he worked for ten years and most recently held the position of deputy general manager and chief investment officer.
Prior to that, he worked for Eurizon Capital (San Paolo Asset Management) holding a wide variety of positions, ranging from Europe and global equity funds manager to head of the equity research team. With more than twenty years’ experience in the asset management sector, he started his path as a financial analyst working for Arca.
