Artemis has announced the appointment of Jasper Berens as head of distribution, succeeding Dick Turpin who will be retiring at the end of the year.
Berens joins from JP Morgan Asset Management where he spent 20 years as head of the UK funds business, before leaving in March 2018. He will join Artemis in October 2018 taking over from Turpin, who is head of asset gathering.
Mark Murray, Artemis’ senior partner, said: “Dick Turpin’s contributions both to Artemis and to our industry have been enormous. Turpin has been integral to helping build Artemis into the firm it is today. We wish him a very long and happy retirement, after almost 30 years in fund management.”
Artemis Investment Management currently manages £28.2bn of assets.
Berens’ appointment follows other recent moves to build the capabilities of Artemis.
