Polar Capital, the UK headquartered specialist active manager has attracted a key emerging markets team from Nordea.
Jorry Rask Nøddekær and colleagues will form the nucleus of capabilities expected to result in the launch of a fund in the third quarter of 2018.
Nøddekær will become head of EM & Asia Team and lead fund manager, and joining him will be Michael Wang, fund manager, Global Emerging Markets, Jerry Wu, fund manager/analyst, Peter Andersen, analyst, and Andy Chen, head of Research – based in Shanghai and who joins from Laxey Partners.
Nøddekær (pictured) had been based in Copenhagen, running nine Nordea funds with assets of more than $6bn. He joined the Nordic group in 2011. He and his former Nordea colleagues will relocate to London as “despite the debate surrounding Brexit, London is still the heart of the asset management industry”.
Gavin Rochussen, CEO, Polar Capital noted that it was no secret he had been trying to boost the emerging markets capabilities of the manager.
