German advisory firm Hengster, Loesch & Kollegen (HLK) has appointed Giovanni Romeo as senior advisor covering the institutional market in Germany and Austria.

In his new role, Romeo will be responsible for working with institutional clients from pension funds and insurances for the Frankfurt-based advisory firm, which was launched in 2014.

Prior to joining HLK, he spent more than four years at his own advisory firm, where he consulted investment funds on distribution to institutional clients for the German market. In addition, he has been a member of the management board at advisory firm Certus AG.

Coinciding with the appointment of Romeo, HLK has also announced a new cooperation with Invest in Visions, a microfinance investment firm which offers institutional investors access to SRI compliant investments in emerging and frontier markets. Invest in Visions was launched by Edda Schröder in 2006.
