Invesco PowerShares hires head of Distribution from iShares

Global provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) Invesco PowerShares has appointed Caroline Baron as head of Invesco PowerShares ETF Distribution UK.

Global provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) Invesco PowerShares has appointed Caroline Baron as head of Invesco PowerShares ETF Distribution UK.

Baron’s appointment is part of the ongoing programme from the provider of Intelligent ETFs to expand its team in Europe.

Baron, who will be responsible for driving Invesco PowerShares’ distribution strategy in the UK, joins from iShares, Blackrock in London.

Most recently she was responsible for the servicing of UK Wealth Managers, Private Banks and Asset Managers. She started her career at iShares in 2006 with responsibility for sales to French institutional clients.

Prior to iShares, Baron spent five years with Credit Agricole Indosuez and IFX Markets.

Bryon Lake, head of Invesco PowerShares – EMEA, says: “The ETF market and in particular the demand for alternatively-weighted ETFs are growing rapidly in Europe.

“Caroline’s appointment strengthens our team in this key market and our ability to effectively service UK investors. Invesco PowerShares was the first-to-market with Smart Beta ETFs.
