As revealed last April by InvestmentEurope, US based liquid real asset manager Cohen & Steers is set to expand its European footprint by making its Ucits funds available to both institutional and wholesale investors across new European markets.
This includes Cohen & Steers’ Global Real Estate Securities Fund, European Real Estate Securities Fund and Global Listed Infrastructure Fund, which are sub-funds of the Cohen & Steers SICAV and are currently registered for sale in a limited set of jurisdictions, including Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
The fund registrations follow the launch of a Cohen & Steers institutional commodities fund and the Cohen & Steers Global Preferred Securities Fund, announced in January and May respectively.
Marc Haynes, head of Sales and Client Service, EMEA said: “Over the past 12 months we have been executing on a strategy to significantly broaden our commitment to Europe. The launch of our commodities and preferred securities strategies, which will soon be followed by the registration for sale of our real estate and infrastructure funds in many more countries, are significant developments for our business.
“Our expansion in Europe coincides with the rapidly growing investor interest in real assets. With real assets broadly underrepresented in many investor’s portfolios, our actively managed liquid real assets strategies provide solutions to a growing number of investor needs – whether it be the need for income, portfolio diversification, inflation protection or as an alternative to less-liquid and less-diversified direct property and infrastructure funds.”
