Markus Leibundgut (pictured), currently CEO of Swiss Life Germany has been appointed as CEO for Swiss Life Switzerland as of 1 April 2017, replacing Ivo Furrer, who will leave the group in order to take on a new role.
Leibundgut has been with Swiss Life since 2012, where he initially started as CFO, heading the Finance & Actuarial Services business area of Swiss Life Switzerland. He subsequently became a member of the group’s executive board.
In 2013, Markus Leibundgut became Chief Operating Officer, and thus a member of management of Swiss Life Germany. Since April 2014, he has been CEO Germany and member of the Corporate Executive Board of the Swiss Life Group, his replacement is yet to be confirmed.

Ivo Furrer will continue to remain on the board of directors and board of trustees at Swiss Life Switzerland.
