Invesco PowerShares has appointed Sascha Specketer as head in Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe.

Invesco, the parent company of PowerShares, a provider of exchange-listed index funds (ETFs), took over the ETF provider Source in April. The merged entity manages $25.9bn in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and employs around 80 people.

Source was founded in London in 2008 and Sascha Specketer belonged to the company since its inception. He began his professional career in the Corporate Finance department at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and then moved to the asset management industry, where he initially worked as a product specialist for European corporate bonds at Pimco in Munich and later as an analyst at Allianz Global Investors in Frankfurt and San Francisco. Prior to his change to Source, Specketer was stock analyst at Bear Stearns.

The regional team currently has five members and will be based in the Invesco Munich branch.
