Private banking company Neuflize OBC, the French arm of Dutch financial group ABN Amro, has appointed Laurent Garret (pictured) as chairman of the firm’s management board, effective 1 September 2017.

He succeeds Philippe Vayssettes, who spent 12 years at Neuflize OBC including nine as chairman of the management board and who will take the reins of Barclays France.

Garret joined Neuflize OBC in March 2015 as head of Financial Institutions Sales France and managing director before being appointed chief commercial officer in January 2016.

The company’s new board chairman said in a statement that he wants to write a new chapter in the firm’s story.

Neuflize OBC had €46.1bn of assets under management as of end of December 2016.
