Horos Asset Management, the recently-launched asset manager of Qualitas Equity Group, has appointed three from the asset management team of Metagestión.
Horos AM, to be led by AM veteran José María Concejo as the firm’s CEO, will also count on Javier Ruiz as partner and investment director, and Alejandro Martín and Miguel Rodríguez as fund managers as well as partners of the firm.
Javier Ruiz has spent the last 11 years working at Metagestión, where since 2012 he was the manager’s investment director. Prior to that, Ruiz worked at DWS Investments and Credit Suisse.
Alejandro Martín, also joining from Metagestión, where he worked as fund manager since 2013, previously worked at the audit team of Ernst & Young.
Miguel Rodríguez joins from Metagestión too, where he worked for some four years. Before, he worked at the investment department of Agbar Group, and formerly, as a financial analyst at ONEtoONE Corporate Finance and Global Corporate Finance. Rodríguez started his career as a risk analyst at BBVA.
Horos AM has also announced the launch of two equity funds – Iberian and Global – as well as the launch of a global equity pension plan. Ruiz, Rodríguez, and Martín, who will manage the three new strategies, will also co-invest in them.
José María Concejo, Horos AM CEO and chairman, said: “The arrival of Javier and his team as Horos AM partners will be a determining factor for the success of this project, explained by their professional background as well as their track record in value investing.”
Javier Ruiz, Horos AM investment director, added: “After several years of hard and gratifying work, Qualitas offered us the opportunity of joining and launching our own investment project. We are very excited and hope to build – alongside our partner José María Concejo -, an important manager in the Spanish market.”
