British asset manager Liontrust has appointed Bernhard Klocke as international sales director within its international sales team.
Klocke works alongside James Beddall and Antonio Forte, selling Liontrust’s Ireland-domiciled fund range to the institutional and wholesale distribution markets across continental Europe.
He focuses on the Nordic region, Germany, Austria and the German-speaking parts of Switzerland.
Bernhard Klocke joins Liontrust from Sky Harbor Capital Management where he served as a managing director. He was previously head of Distribution in Germany and Austria at AXA Investment Managers and co-head of Wholesale for Germany at JP Morgan Asset Management.
Ian Chimes, head of Global Distribution at Liontrust, said: “We have been growing our client base in continental Europe over the past couple of years and Bernhard is an important addition to our sales team and he will help us continue our expansion.
“His extensive experience and strength of relationships will greatly help our distribution, particularly in the Nordics and the German-speaking parts of Switzerland. Over the last year, we have added sustainable investment and global fixed income teams and these asset classes are key to the markets covered by Bernhard.”
Klocke commented: “I have joined Liontrust because we have a broad range of good quality fund management teams and funds offering UK, European and Asian equities, global fixed income and sustainable investment.
“We have high conviction fund managers who have distinct and robust investment processes along with strong long-term track records. I am confident they will appeal to the institutional and wholesale markets in my regions.”
Liontrust had £10.6bn (€8.66bn) in AUM as of 31 December 2017.
