German boutique appoints new CIO

Düsseldorf-based boutique Hinkel & Cie Vermögensverwaltung AG has appointed Marius Hoerner as new asset manager and chief investment officer.

Hoerner will oversee investments in the Hinkel Europa Core Satelliten Strategie HI and the Hinkel Welt Core Satelliten Strategie HI funds of funds.

Hoerner succeeds Jörg Bohn, former CIO for over 10 years at Hinkel & Cie, who retired.

Hoerner said the investment philosophy and the risk management policies of the company have been reshuffled and dynamised, in particular the quantitative part of Hinkel & Cie’s fund selection.

Hoerner added Hinkel & Cie is currently forecasting returns of 4 to 5% p.a with its funds.

Hinkel & Cie was established in 2000. Some 83.2% of the firm’s capital is owned by the management team.
