British asset manager Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has promoted Volker Kurr to head of Europe Institutional, the group announced.
Kurr, who spent four years as head of Germany, Austria and Switzerland will now report directly to Sarah Aitken, head of Distribution Europe, Middle East and Asia at LGIM.
“In the context expanding our investment capacities in key international markets, Volker Kurr will play an important role for the next growth phase for institutional markets in Europe” comments Sarah Aitken, in order to support his work, LGIM will now open an office in Frankfurt, she adds.
Prior to joining LGIM, Kurr worked among others as managing partner at MARS Asset Management, as CEO at WestLB Mellon and managing director at UBS Germany, where he covered the institutional and wholesale market. In addition, he also worked as CEO of SEB Asset Management, managing director institutional clients at Cominvest and for Commerzbank.
