Rockspring Property Investment Managers, specialised in the acquisition and management of commercial property throughout the UK and continental Europe, has announced the appointment of Lionel Nicolas as director France.
Nicolas, who has 18 years’ experience in French real estate investment, replaces Arnaud Le Mintier.
He moved from Cordea Savills where he was managing director for France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Formerly, he has launched a French management company and a tax transparent vehicle – OPCI Urban Retail Invest – through which he raised equity from French institutional companies and family offices.
Prior to that, Nicolas has held positions as general manager of a Macquarie Bank fund and head of Retail Investment at Grosvenor Continental Europe, where he acquired more than €700m in retail assets for Grosvenor’s funds.
Jo De Clercq, partner at Rockspring, commented: “Lionel’s extensive experience and knowledge of the French real estate investment markets will be invaluable to Rockspring as we continue to grow our presence in France.”
As at December 2014, London headquartered Rockspring managed €7.9bn of assets, of which €557m in France, mainly in the logistics, retail and office sectors.
