Sasha Evers, Iberia managing director at BNY Mellon Investment Management, will also lead the firm’s Latin American business.
Antonio Salvador Nasur, who is based in Chile, will keep his position as Latin America associate vice president, reporting directly to Evers, who will continue working from Madrid.
BNY Mellon IM opened its office in Madrid in 2000 under the leadership of Evers. Since then, the Iberia business has seen assets under management grow to €3.7bn.
“The Latin American market offers an interesting growth capacity for our business. I look forward to working with Antonio to boost our activity in the region,” Evers said.
“When planning a strategy that allows us to add assets under management to our business we thought about Latin America. We saw many synergies between Iberia and this region. The experience of Sasha and the proven success of his activity in Iberia, make him the ideal person to develop this business and foster our presence in the region,” said Matt Oomen, director of international distribution at BNY Mellon IM.
