Geneva-headquartered Pictet Asset Management has been awarded the French government-backed socially responsible investing label for five of its strategies.
This includes the following funds: Global Environmental Opportunities, Timber, Clean Energy, Emerging Markets Sustainable Equities and European Sustainable Equities.
Hervé Thiard, managing director of Pictet Asset Management in Paris, said: “The certification of our funds is enshrined in a global approach that seeks to integrate ESG criteria in all Pictet investment strategies. What is at stake is not only the sustainability issue but also the financial performance. By taking into account ESG criteria, Pictet AM looks at reducing risks and increasing returns. ESG’s integration becomes source of performance and value.”
Some 147 funds of 28 different asset management firms, representing €35bn in assets under management, have been granted the French SRI label.
