Amundi’s thematic centre, CPR Asset Management, has launched the CPR Invest – Megatrends within its Luxembourg-domiciled Sicav CPR Invest.
The fund of funds, managed by Florian Peudevin and Guillaume Uettwiller, aims at outperforming the MSCI World index and benefiting from megatrends identified by CPR AM.
It invests primarily in thematic equity funds managed by the firm, such as Silver Age on ageing, Disruptive Opportunities or the recently launched Food For Generations.
The allocation of the CPR Invest – Megatrends fund is reviewed monthly by the firm’s thematic allocation committee. The risk-adjusted weight of each fund depends of the fund management team’s convictions. The fund managers can also remove biases, whether sectorial or geographical, by investing tactically in funds focusing specifically on a region, a theme or a sector.
Peudevin and Uettwiller said the fund was built on the basis of CPR’s thematic strategies which benefit from a long-term growth potential. Lead manager on the fund, Peudevin said risk management remains essential and that he and Uettwiller will take into account existing correlations and volatility of each theme to structure the allocation of the megatrends fund of funds.
The fund, officially launched on 14 December 2017, has been registered in France, Austria, the UK and Spain and registrations are ongoing in Belgium, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.
