Andbank Wealth Management, the asset manager of Andbank Spain, has appointed Antonio Castro as chairman of its board of directors and independent director.
Castro is state attorney and has an extensive career. In the private sector, Castro worked for the Barclays group, where he held various executive positions, such as general secretary and head of Regulatory Affairs for Europe. He was also CEO of Barclays Spain, position from which he coordinated the sale of the British group retail banking business to Spain’s La Caixa.
Castro graduated in Law from ICADE and has completed postgraduate studies at IESE-Harvard and the University of Cambridge.
Carlos Pérez Parada, CEO of Andbank Wealth Management, said Castro’s appointment will add a valuable national and international experience, both in terms of business and in regards to good corporate governance, control and management risk.
Andbank recently appointed Bruno Aguilar as head of Business Development for the network of Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs).
“It is the ideal profile to offer the best support to IFAs, facing the new challenges that will bring the coming regulatory changes in the sector. Thus, Aguilar reinforces a business that is completely strategic within the entity,” said Emilio Andreu, responsible for Financial Agents and Andbank’s Spanish IFAs.
