Baader Bank announced the appointment of Marcel Uhlmann as director of Asset Manager Sales in order to expand its asset manager business.
In his new position, Marcel Uhlmann will report to Albrecht Kümmerer, who oversees Baader Bank’s General Sales team. Albrecht Kümmerer manages the asset manager business, depositories and fintech projects. The fast growing and strategically important line of business is managed by Oliver Riedel, who is a member of the board of managing directors and is responsible for the bank’s customer business.
In his previous position at DAB BNP Paribas, which he held between 2000 and now, Marcel Uhlmann was responsible for managing asset manager-related customer care; he is considered to have outstanding industry insights and impeccable expertise. “Hiring Marcel Uhlmann was another step in our consistent approach to reaching our ambitious B2B goals, which is strategically important to us. Uhlmann has the necessary industry experience and know-how to optimally position Baader Bank for its customers in view of asset manager requirements”, stated Oliver Riedel.
In the past 12 months, Baader Bank has been able to increase the number of deposits held in the account-holding and depository business from 4,200 to 10,500, and the total depository volume by 150% to €2.2bn (half-year figures 2016/2017). Especially in digitalisation, Baader Bank sees impressive market potential and notable growth opportunities. In online asset management, companies such as Scalable, Solidvest by DJE, Werthstein, Investify, United Signals and others have already chosen Baader Bank as their account-holding and depository bank.
