State Street Global Advisors has recruited two senior sales staff from Amundi and Invesco to boost the company’s SPDR ETF brand in France and Southern Europe.
State Street Global Advisors has recruited two senior sales staff from Amundi and Invesco to boost the company’s SPDR ETF brand in France and Southern Europe.
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the asset management subsidiary of State Street, has appointed Olivier Paquier (pictured) as head of sales for France, Spain and Portugal and Eric Geffroy as a salesperson for its range of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), SPDR.
Both Paquier and Geffroy will be based in Paris. Paquier will report to Marco Fusco, head of SSgA France.
According to Fusco, the new appointments will enable SSgA to develop client relations for the SPDR ETF range in France and Southern Europe among institutions and distribution platforms.
Paquier was previously a product specialist at Amundi ETF. Geffroy joins SSgA from Invesco PowerShares where he was an ETF product manager.
Their appointment reflects SSgA’s marketing push for the SPDR ETF range across Europe. In October the group announced it had appointed Hein Kuijpers from Fidelity as head of sales in Benelux to develop client relationships in that market also focusing on the SPDR ETFs.
SSgA currently has 29 SPDR ETFS listed on different European stock exchanges representing €183bn of assets.
