AEW achieves €3.8bn European property deals in 2016

Property manager AEW has reported it has achieved some €3.8bn of transactions in Europe in 2016, of which €3.2bn were acquisitions, primarily in France and the United Kingdom.

In total, AEW has concluded 168 deals in 2016 (93 acquisitions and 75 sales). Three of the five major acquisitions made by AEW were assets based in Paris.

AEW which recently merged with French real estate manager Ciloger now tallies over €26bn of assets under management.

The company reported it has raised capital of €3.3bn in Europe, two thirds coming from institutional clients and one third from retail clients.

Rob Wilkinson, CEO of AEW Europe, said that the company is determined to remain within the top 5 of real estate managers in Europe.
