Duemme SGR, Italy’s Banca Esperia’s asset manager, has launched “Fondo per le Imprese,” a new fund exclusively aimed at institutional investors to support the funding of SMEs.
The fund will invest in mini-bonds, the new financial instruments created by Decreto Sviluppo (a law issued by the Italian government to support the growth of SMEs).
With subscriptions opening next autumn, the fund will allow institutional investors to fund domestic SMEs with solid fundamentals and support their business plans in the short period.
Filippo Di Naro, CEO of Duemme SGR, said: “Tensions on the credit market affect all Italian firms, also those in good financial conditions, and are particularly harsh for SMEs.
“We believe that pension funds investors, as well as other institutional investors, who struggle to find long-term investments opportunities will find this new product very useful for bond investments.”
