The Andorran Andbank group has named Jacobo Baltar as the new general secretary of the group and its managing board.
Baltar (pictured) will also be responsible for the monitoring of Andbank’s international subsidiaries, reporting to corporate services’ deputy general director Antonio Castro.
He joins Andbank from Caixabank where based in London he worked as head of international corporate legal advisory. Prior to that, he was the general secretary and head of legal advisory for Barclays Spain.
Baltar started his professional career working for international law firms including Uría Menéndez, Garrigues and Baker & McKenzie.
The Andorran bank said the appointment was part of the internationalisation process the group has been developing since 2008 and that it comes to bolster its commitment to good corporate governance.
