OMGI takes corporate bond fund in house

Old Mutual Global Investors has taken the management of the Old Mutual Investment Grade Corporate Bond fund in house, to be managed by Lloyd Harris, who will take over responsibilities from current manager Rogge Global Partners.

Harris is manager of the Old Mutual Corporate Bond fund at OMGI. He will be supported by Tim Barker, head of credit.

The IG Corporate Bond fund will retain the same objective under the new management. It offers exposure to the global credit market, which distinguishes it from the Corporate Bond fund, which focuses on corporate bonds issued in or hedged back to sterling.

Lloyd has managed the Corporate Bond fund since December 2015. Barker has held his role for a similar time, as well as currently co-managing the Old Mutual Monthly Income Bond fund.

OMGI’s head of fixed income is Christine Johnson. OMGI said that the process being followed by the fixed income team “allows the management of a greater number of funds within the framework.”

Warren Tonkinson, managing director, OMGI, said: “We’ve been expanding our fixed income proposition under the leadership of Christine Johnson for the last year, including boosting the team with senior hires and promoting internal talent. We now manage a suite of products covering government bonds, emerging market debt and the global credit market. We believe that investors in the Old Mutual Investment Grade Corporate Bond Fund are set to benefit from Lloyd and Tim’s extensive knowledge and experience. We’d like to thank Rogge for managing the fund up until now.”
