Franklin Templeton Investments and Vietcombank, Vietnam’s Bank for Foreign Trade, have picked Avinash Satwalekar to be the new chief executive of Vietcombank Fund Management (VCBF), an investment management firm focused on Vietnam.
He has previously held senior roles globally in operations, compliance and risk, as well as financial institution audit and assurance. Before joining Franklin Templeton he was head of compliance for HSBC in Bermuda and audit manager for Financial Institutions with Deloitte & Touche in South Africa.
Franklin Templeton Alternative Strategies' investment platforms include the emerging markets private equity and mezzanine finance capabilities of Darby Private Equity, the multi-asset strategies and customized portfolios of Franklin Templeton Multi-Asset Strategies, the global property and real asset offerings of Franklin Templeton Real Asset Advisors and the company's strategic relationship with alternatives specialist Pelagos Capital Management.
In addition, the Alternatives Strategies unit encompasses the company's local asset management teams in Australia, Brazil, Dubai, India, Japan and Korea, and its asset management joint ventures in China and Vietnam - the joint venture in Vietnam being VCBF.
