NN Investment Partners (NN IP) has strengthened its alternative credit team with the appointment of Eric Verret as head of Corporate Loans. Verret will be responsible for corporate credit investment strategies.
NN IP has been expanding its alternative credit/private debt team for some time, as this asset class is becoming increasingly important to clients.
Eric Verret has extensive experience in international debt capital markets and corporate banking. For the past 13 years, he has held various senior management positions at GE Capital. Most recently, he led a team in London dedicated to lending and structuring loans to finance the acquisition of European loan portfolios.
Previously, he held several other positions at GE Capital, including managing director of Business Development and Capital Markets for a loan fund founded jointly by GE Capital and Mubadala Development Corporation of Abu Dhabi, investing in asset-based and leveraged finance loans globally.
Before joining GE Capital, Verret worked for five years as a lawyer specialising in capital markets and securities for Clifford Chance in London as well as for various law firms in Canada.
In addition, NN IP’s Alternative Credit Investment Committee has appointed two additional independent external members: Uwe Seedorf and Hein Brand. They support NN IP’s credit risk decision-making process and complement the existing Investment Committee with Han Rijken, Patrick den Besten and Gabriella Kindert.
Uwe Seedorf was chief credit risk officer at GE Capital and had held various leadership positions there since joining in 2001. Previously, he worked for Dresdner Bank, where he specialised in structured project finance. has a total of 28 years of leadership experience in financial institutions in EMEA and US. He was also a member of the supervisory board of three European banks.
Hein Brand has spent more than 30 years in senior positions in credit risk management, particularly at ING and Shell. From 2009 to 2016 he was CEO of ING Real Estate and since 2001 he has been a member of ING’s Commercial Banking Executive Team. Prior to that, he led Credit Risk Management at ING, where his team was also responsible for credit restructuring.
