Aberdeen AM appoints property team portfolio manager
Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed Justin Kean as portfolio manager to its European property multi-manager team. He will be based in the Amsterdam office.
As part of the 31-strong global team, he will focus on managing a portfolio of European property funds as well as assist manage around €300m of mandates.
Kean joins from ING real estate select where he was an investment manager for four years.
Unigestion hires UK institutional clients director
Swiss independent asset manager Unigestion has appointed Michel Bernard as director for institutional clients to its UK team.
Bernard has more than 25 years of experience in the UK financial industry. His appointment shows the company's commitment to the world's third largest pension fund market and its third largest client base, it said in a statement.
Bernard will help institutions find the most appropriate investment strategy for their needs, leveraging the company's long-standing experience in managing minimum variance equities, funds of hedge funds and private equity funds of funds.
He joins from F&C Asset Management, where he was head of UK business development and head of UK client relations. He previously held senior positions at Nomura, UBS and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
Kames Capital strengthens fixed income team
Kames Capital has strengthened its fixed income team with the appointment of Greg Mackay.
He joins as a fixed income investment manager, working in the government bonds team, with specific responsibility for derivatives. He will report to Stephen Jones, the company's joint head of fixed income.
Prior to joining, Mackay was head of fixed income and derivatives at Nationwide Building Society, where he was head of a team of 10 responsible for the society's liquidity book and interest rate risk. He and his team were also responsible for structuring and hedging the Society's retail savings, mortgages and commercial lending activities.
Prior to Nationwide, Mackay was director UK rates and inflation sales at Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets and director inflation trading desk at Citigroup Global Markets.
Oddo AM appoints Alain Meyer as head of institutional clients.
Oddo Asset Management has appointed Alain Meyer as head of institutional clients for Switzerland to its international sales team.
He will be based at the company's office in Zurich. His principal task is to develop the German-speaking Swiss institutional client base.
Bertrand Levavasseur, head of international sales said Switzerland is the company's main market outside France. "By recruiting Alain Meyer we are stepping up our commitment to this market," he said.
Before joining, Meyer was part of the institutional team for German-speaking Switzerland and Germany at Wellington Management in London. Between 2006 and 2009 he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London, where he covered a client base of institutional investors across Europe.
