Baring Asset Management (Barings) has appointed Darryl Lucas to the position of Global Equity Income Investment manager.
The hire responds to “growing need” for income investments, Barings said.
Lucas is based in London and reports to Marino Valensise.
He joins Barings from Sarasin & Partners, where he was most recently head of Equity Income and a fund manager across a range of dividend mandates.
Previously Lucas was a credit analyst at ABN Amro Asset Management and he worked as an analyst of financial markets at the Bank of England.
Ken Lambden, Chief Investment Officer at Barings, said: “Income is one area where we anticipate continued strong demand as global demographic trends and low interest rates influence the need for income across the globe.”
