Brooks Macdonald managing director of UK investment management Nick Holmes is stepping down after 22 years at the firm.
Following Holmes’s departure, the UK investment management business will be co-led by head of London Robin Eggar and head of regions John Wallace. They will report directly to chief executive Caroline Connellan, who joined from HSBC last year.
Natixis Investment Managers has hired a manager trio from Pictet Asset Management as the firm looks to launch a range of thematic strategies.
Arnaud Bisschop, Frédéric Dupraz and Nolan Hoffmeyer – who managed more than €21bn in thematic funds at Pictet – have now joined Natixis while two additional managers will join in early 2019. Bisschop was previously co-manager of the €5.2bn Pictet Water fund, Dupraz was co-manager of the €4.9bn Pictet Security fund and Hoffmeyer was co-manager of the €3.9bn Pictet Digital fund.
Marlborough Group has hired Richard Goodall to its board as director of strategy and business development from Parmenion.
Goodall will be responsible for the business development of the entire group, which includes Marlborough Fund Managers, Marlborough Investment Management, Investment Fund Services – which they acquired in 2012 – and Marlborough International.
Laud previously served as head of equity at Fidelity International. William Riley has also joined as head of solutions for LGIM, the £985bn asset management arm of Legal & General. Riley has moved from BlackRock.
BlackRock has promoted Joe Parkin to head of iShares and digital wealth UK, Netherlands and the Nordics.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the firm’s ETF, index and index solutions business across institutional, wealth and retail clients in the UK.
HSBC has appointed Sue Fox as its new chief executive in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Fox, who is currently the CEO of M&S Bank, which is part of the HSBC Group, will take up her post on 1 February 2019 to succeed Tracy Garrad, who is leaving the bank.
Intertrust has added two client directors to its fund services team: Methé Porter has been appointed, while Nick McHardy has been promoted.
Porter is a qualified accountant with more than 15 years’ industry experience. McHardy joined the company in 2013, starting as a senior financial account manager and progressing to manager of two new teams. As client directors, the pair will be tasked with ensuring the delivery of optimal client service.
The Association of International Life Offices (Ailo) has confirmed Bob Pain as chief executive, replacing Alan Morgan-Moodie, who formally retired at the end of October.
Morgan-Moodie was chief executive of Ailo since 2010 and chair for the preceding six years. Pain has been chair of Ailo since 2015 and his appointment was unanimously approved by the association’s members.
Investec Asset Management has hired Marco Tang as head of adviser business for the greater China region, a new role based in Hong Kong.
Tang joined Investec from Neuberger Berman Asia where he was the head of retail business for mainland China and Hong Kong.
