Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has hired Lucy Bloomfield as deputy fund manager for its Hargreave Hale AIM venture capital trust (VCT).
Bloomfield joins from Ennismore Fund Management where she focused on small and mid-cap Pan-European companies. Prior to that, she worked as a UK small and mid-cap analyst and fund manager at BlackRock for eight years.
Northern Trust has appointed John Ippolito as senior managing director in the New York and Connecticut offices. He will be responsible for leading one of the two Greater New York teams.
Ippolito assumes his new role with 28 years of wealth management experience, most recently as the president of Northern Trust Wealth Management in the San Diego region, where he contributed to the successful growth of Northern Trust’s presence in Southern California.
JP Morgan Private Bank has named Alex Wolf as head of its client investment strategy in Asia.
Wolf was previously working as a senior emerging markets economist at Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Dolfin has appointed Richard Gray as head of investment management, a newly created role within the firm.
In his new position, Gray, will lead Dolfin’s investment team and further strengthen its asset management capabilities to best meet the needs of its private and institutional clients. He joins from ACPI, where he was co-head of institutional wealth management.
New World Capital Advisors (NWCA), a specialist merchant banking and investment firm, has appointed two new partners. Alexander Tsirigotis joins as chief operating officer and Simon Evans as general counsel.
Tsirigotis (pictured) joins from BlackRock, where he held positions in its Financial Markets Advisory and Corporate Strategy divisions. His previous experience includes roles at Merrill Lynch, Mediobanca and Nomura.
Evans qualified as a barrister and then held senior roles at HSBC and JP Morgan in Hong Kong, Citibank in Zurich and Goldman Sachs, during which time he advised many of the leading Asian and Middle Eastern families and corporations.
Legal & General Investment Management has appointed Sonja Laud as deputy chief investment officer and William Riley as head of solutions, joining in January.
In her newly created role, Laud will report to CIO Anton Eser. She joins from Fidelity International, where she was head of equity and a member of its global equity management team, having joined in June 2017.
Fidelity International has named Steve Ellis as its new global CIO for fixed income, replacing Charles McKenzie who retires from the role at the end of this year.
Ellis, who will step up to the role from 1 January 2019, will relinquish his current role as a portfolio manager in the firm’s $6bn AUM emerging markets debt team, where he works across a range of strategies including local currency, sovereign, corporate and unconstrained approaches.
