Standard Life Investments has launched an international version of its MyFolio range of multi-manager SICAV funds.

The Edinburgh-based investment giant confirmed that the funds will now be available outside of the UK for the first time, with a version now available to German advisers and their clients under a Luxemburg–domiciled SICAV umbrella.

The MyFolio Funds are risk-based portfolios that offer investors a choice of investment strategies across five risk levels with five multi-asset, fund-of-fund portfolios available, the company said in a statement earlier, announcing the launch earlier today

The MyFolio suite funds, first launched in the UK in 2010 as an OEIC, has been one of Standard Life Investments’ fastest growing fund ranges, reaching £10bn in assets under management in November 2016.

MyFolio is managed by a 12-strong Fund Solutions team based in London. Lead managers for the multi-manager SICAV portfolios are Joe Wiggins, fund manager and James Millard, investment director at SLI.  The Fund Solutions team is supported by the wider Multi-Asset Investment capability at the firm.

SICAV launch

Millard said that he was “excited” by the SICAV launch and pointed that as the funds had proved successful in helping advisers and clients respond to market and regulatory changes in the UK, with the prospect of similar regulatory change in Europe, the time was right for the launch.

“MyFolio has been very successful in the UK, helping both advisors and investors to navigate the volatile market environment and regulatory changes we’ve seen over the last five years,” he said. “In the current low growth, low return environment, it is the right time to launch the multi-manager range in Germany.”

Frank Richter, head of sales for Germany, Standard Life Investments, added: “We’ve been active in Germany for over a decade and we are now seeing increased demand from the retail market; advisors, their clients and also retail banks.”
