UK-based investment management specialist Tilney has appointed Miles Robinson as head of investment management London.
The investment management and financial planning business of the Tilney Bestinvest group, has promoted Robinson (pictured) from his previous role as head of Tilney for Intermediaries and head of the firm’s Birmingham office. He will now operate from the firm’s Mayfair office and report into Alan Edwards, head of investment management for England, the firm said in a statement today.
A spokesperson for Tilney Bestinevst said that the role head of investment management in London is a relatively new post created earlier this year following the merger between Tilney Bestinvest and Ingenious Asset Management (and in preparation for the then impending acquisition of Towry).
Previously the position had been overseen by Guy Bowles, the former chief executive of Ingenious, who departed following the successful conclusion of the integration between Ingenious and Tilney Bestinvest.
Adam Parker meanwhile is taking over Robinson’s original role in the Midlands. A chartered financial analyst, Parker has been a director of Tilney since 2008 and has worked closely alongside Robinson over this time to build a high quality client book. Parker will continue to work from the group’s Birmingham office and will also report into Alan Edwards.
“With the merger of Towry and Tilney Bestinvest now complete, we are excited to be able to move forward,” said Edwards. Having two excellent and experienced professionals managing our London and Birmingham teams will ensure we can make the most of the breadth and depth of talent the group contains within its Tilney Investment Management business.”
