Nucleus
Nucleus, the independent wrap platform provider, has announced that Margaret Hassall and Tracy Dunley-Owen have joined the board as independent non-executive directors with immediate effect.

Margaret Hassall is currently an independent non-executive director at OneSavings Bank. She spent seven years working for Deloitte as a consultant and led the financial services consulting business for Charteris. Tracy Dunley-Owen brings over 15 years’ of sector experience to the board, including senior executive roles at Old Mutual, Guardian Financial Services, Swiss Re Life Capital and Celestial Financial Services.

FundRock
FundRock has hired as group head of business development, based in the firm’s London office.

Spendiff (pictured) has more than 20 years of experience in financial markets and services. He has worked with clients from around the world looking to establish European management and fund structures for both open and closed-ended funds. Spendiff joins from Apex Fund Services where he was head of European sales and managing director of their UK operations.

AMP
AMP Capital, the $147bn Australian asset manager, has hired Malcolm Brown as a senior principal in its global infrastructure equity business, a role based in London. Mr Brown spent nearly a decade as chief executive of Angel Trains, the UK’s largest rolling stock company in which AMP is an investor.

Sackers
Sacker & Partners (Sackers), a specialist law firm for UK pensions and retirement savings, has promoted James Bingham to the partnership. In addition, Emma Martin has been promoted to associate director, and Sarah Stimson and Oliver Topping to senior associate.

The promotions take effect on 1 August 2018, on which date the firm will have 28 partners and 30 other lawyers.

Butterfield
Butterfield has appointed Brian Balleine as its new regional head to drive their business growth in the Asia region following the establishment of a licensed trust company in Singapore as part of the acquisition of Deutsche Bank Global Trust Solutions.

Balleine, previously managing director of Butterfield Trust in the Cayman Islands, brings over 30 years’ experience in the field of international trust and fiduciary services, and has worked extensively with ultra-high net worth families and their advisers to enable complex wealth planning solutions.

Schroders
Schroders, the £447bn London-listed asset manager, has hired Kun Shan as Asia fixed-income fund manager. Mr Shan will be based in Shanghai. He previously worked for BNP Paribas.

Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse is hiring a veteran investment banker from local rival UOB. The Swiss bank is looking expand in southeast Asia as well and frontier markets like Vietnam.

The Zurich-based bank said it is hiring Andy Tan as head of southeast Asia syndicated loans. In 11 years at the Singapore-based bank, Tan helped issuers including PT Tower Bersama, San Miguel, Marina Bay Sands, Transgrid and Indonesia Eximbank raise $20 billion in financing.
