Old Mutual International has added a new senior appointment to cover the domestic adviser channel in Hong Kong.
Ivy Lee joins the firm as head of business development for the Hong Kong domestic market with responsibility for building and growing Old Mutual International’s (OMI) reach in the domestic adviser market, the company said in a statement announcing the appointment earlier today.
OMI, which is part of Old Mutual Wealth, said that Hong Kong is a strategic focus for the firm as the wealth management sector continues to grow in “size and significance” in the region. “The needs and expectations of the high net worths and affluents are evolving with greater demand for holistic wealth management,” the statement read.
Lee’s new role will include helping OMI “explore and capture” new business opportunities.
Joining from Friends Provident International where she was regional sales manager, Lee has nearly 20 years industry experience in the domestic market, and previous employers include Sun Life, Prudential and HSBC. She will work alongside Fred Wong who is head of distribution development for the Hong Kong domestic market and report in to Mark Christal, chief executive at Old Mutual International Hong Kong.
OMI added that in the Hong Kong region a growing number of advisers are recognising the effect that regulatory change and evolving client expectations is having on the advice market.
Christal said that Lee is “well respected” by domestic adviser firms, and her proven track record, knowledge and expertise will “help us grow our business and develop our overall market proposition”.
