Manulife Asset Management has named Othman Domiati to the newly created post of managing director and head of sales and relationship management for the Middle East.
Manulife said Domiati’s appointment is part of its ongoing expansion plans for its European and Middle Eastern sales operations.
Domiati, pictured, will operate out of Manulife’s London office, the Toronto-based insurance and fianancial services company said in a statement. He will report to Marco Zanuso, head of distribution for Europe ex-UK and the Middle East.
Domiati previously helped establish Erste Bank of Austria’s capital markets business in the Middle East. He has also served in a capital-raising role for ECM Asset Management and for Wells Fargo Asset Management, raising funds from the Middle Eastern region focusing on Sovereign Wealth Funds, government institutions and central banks, Manulife said.
Manulife Asset Management is the global asset management arm of Manulife Financial. At the end of December, the parent company had assets under management of around US$301bn (£204n), (€277n). Manulife operates in the United States as John Hancock.
