Mauritius-headquartered financial services firm Victoria Capital Management has established a branch in the Principality of Monaco in November 2017, InvestmentEurope, a sister title to International Investment, has revealed.
Monaco’s branch is chaired by Paolo Di Giovanni, who was previously head of Wealth Management of Groupe Financier de Gestion Monaco (GFG Monaco). It is understood new offices will be opened in Lugano, Switzerland and Dubai.
The firm’s investment division VCM Asset Management looks into active bond, equity and absolute return strategies. And that other areas of expertise include the constitution and management of investment funds, the analysis of existing investments including asset allocation, specific products, associated costs, performance attribution, documentation and transactions, the creation of products such as capital protected notes, certificates or leveraged products linked to equities, funds, hedge funds, interest rates or hybrid securities.
Di Giovanni has been followed by former colleague and senior market advisor at GFG Monaco Frederico Lazzeretti, who joined Victoria Capital Management as investment advisor at the beginning of 2018.
Following these departures, InvestmentEurope understands GFG Monaco recruited Giacomo Bonavera and Anthony Mirarchi within its wealth management department, as wealth manager and head of Middle Office, Wealth Management. Both joined in November 2017.
Bonavera was previously wealth manager and head of Forex Trading at Capilis Asset Managers in Johannesburg, South Africa.
2017 has also seen the arrival at GFG Monaco of hedge fund manager Mauro Pizzi, who formerly held roles at SAC Global Investors and BlueCrest Capital. He was also a previous co-manager of the GLG Financial fund at GLG Partners.
