Boston and Paris-based Natixis Investment Managers has announced the launch of ‘Dynamic Solutions’, a new business which will utilise the firm’s range of affiliates to deliver investment solutions for clients as well as providing advisory, structuring and fiduciary management services.

The unit will be headed up by James Hughes, former global head of strategic client solutions at Aberdeen Standard Investments, who will be supported by Claire Martinetto, former project leader of the solutions initiative at Natixis IM.

Hughes joined Aberdeen Standard Investments in 2015 from Gottex Fund Management, where he managed multi-asset solutions.

The arm has been formed through the consolidation of the firm’s European investment solutions capabilities into a centralised arm that leverages the capabilities from the former Portfolio Research & Consulting Group and the former Investment and Client Solutions unit of Ostrum Asset Management.

The Dynamic Solutions business will provide advisory, structuring and fiduciary management services to clients.

Its three main areas of focus will be consulting and advisory, investment solutions and services, and multi-asset multi-affiliate investments, the company said.

Jean Raby, head of Natixis IM, said: “Natixis Dynamic Solutions brings together the existing asset allocation and portfolio construction expertise of our group into a single entity to address complex investment challenges utilising the diverse expertise of our global multi-affiliate organisation.”

The launch of the new business comes after the firm rebranded its asset management affiliate as Ostrum in April as part of longer-term plans to focus on fixed income, equity and insurance.
