CISI has appointed Susan Clements as global director of learning. The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce the appointment of Susan Clements as its new global director of learning.
Before joining the CISI Susan was head of qualifications at the Institution of Civil Engineers, having previously been membership development officer. After graduating from Oxford University, Susan qualified as a Chartered Civil Engineer with WS Atkins before moving into consulting with PWC.
Brooks Macdonald
Brooks Macdonald has appointed Simon Brookes as a director within their financial planning team.
Brookes has more than 15 years’ experience of providing counsel to high net worth private clients and joins from James Hambro & Partners. Simon is a Chartered Financial Planner, holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and is Fellow Member of the Personal Finance Society. He was shortlisted for Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2017.
The firm has twelve offices across the UK and the Channel Islands, including London, Guernsey, Hampshire, Jersey, Leamington Spa, Manchester, Taunton, Tunbridge Wells, York, Scotland and Wales.
River and Mercantile
River and Mercantile has named former Australian rugby international Tim Horan as the head of its Australian and New Zealand operations.
He took up a career in finance following his retirement at the turn of century, after winning 80 test caps following his debut for the Wallabies in 1989, most recently serving as an executive for Australian bank Westpac.
His appointment coincides with the launch of the group’s first Australian unit trust.
Group CEO Mike Faulkner said the appointment represented a “continuation of our strategy to expand both the range of solutions we can deploy to serve client needs and the breadth of clients we can serve.”
Martin Currie
Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust has appointed Zehrid Osmani as joint portfolio manager of the company, alongside Tom Walker, as part of a considered succession plan.
Zehrid joined Martin Currie last month to lead its Global Long-Term Unconstrained (GLTU) team, which will complement his additional role as joint portfolio manager of Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust.
This appointment recent appointment strengthens Martin Currie’s global equity team that manages a range of highly differentiated investment strategies for clients around the world, including Martin Currie Global Portfolio Trust. The team consists of seven specialists that are supported by a further 46 regional investment professionals.
PGGM Coöperatie
PGGM Coöperatie, the Dutch asset manager PGGM’s parent company, has appointed Jet Bussemaker as its chair. She will take over from Frank de Grave, who has completed his maximum term of eight years.
Bussemaker was minister for education, culture and science in the Netherlands between 2012 and 2017, and state secretary for health, well being and sports from 2007 to 2010.
