Rosemont International, a multi-family office and high-end corporate services provider based in Monaco, has opened an office in Sliema, Malta, where it says it will offer a range of services, including the setting up of companies, yacht registrations, residency assistance, corporate structuring and administrative services.
Rosemont said it expects the Malta Financial Services Authority-regulated office to cater to clients located not just in Malta but across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
As reported, Rosemont opened an office in Ebene, Mauritius last April, joining a list of other Rosemont International outposts under the Rosemont name in Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam.
Rosemont affiliates, under the Rosebank and Genfin names, are located in the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and UK, according to the Rosemont Monaco website.
Rosemont says its newest office will be headed up by Rishi Bonello, who holds a BA in administration and an MSc in finance from the University of Leicester, and who has worked in Malta’s corporate services sector since 2006.
His areas of special interest are said to include corporate services, shipping, residency and gaming, and he’s also an active member of the Malta Maritime Law Association and member of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners.
According to Rosemont, Malta possesses a number of attractions that make it well-suited as a location for a Rosemont outpost, including the fact of its being an EU member state, and thus eligible for cross-border passporting rights for services and companies; a flexible and competitive tax regime; a relatively large network of double-tax treaties; low operating costs; and no withholding tax on distribution of dividends, interest and royalties.
Adds Rosemont founder and director Peter Brigham (pictured above, in Monaco): “We thought it was important to have a presence in Malta , which has a unique offering in the heart of Europe, and which is an important centre of business for our international clients.
“With its highly skilled workforce, it is at the forefront of various internationally focused service sectors, such as financial services, yachting, shipping and international trade.”
The company is looking forward to meeting some of its clients and would-be clients later this month at a “superyachts” event scheduled to take place at the Intercontinental Malta hotel in Saint Julian’s, Malta – of which Rosemont Yacht Services & Management is listed as a sponsor. Brigham is currently among those scheduled to attend the event.
Founded in 1981, Rosemont specialises in providing the kinds of services that people and businesses located in Monaco tend to need – including, as noted above, help with their yachts, as well as with tax and estate planning, philanthropy planning and succession planning – and its multi-lingual staff includes lawyers, accountants, notaries and tax experts certified in numerous key jurisdictions.
