Standard Chartered
Standard Chartered Private Bank’s Wealth Intermediaries team has grown with the appointment of Stephan Geissmar as head of investments.

Geissmar, who has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, will be responsible for supporting relationship managers in providing investment solutions that both protect and enhance intermediary clients’ wealth. He joins from BNP Paribas Securities Services where he was a business development manager.

Ogier’s Guernsey office has announced Tim Clipstone as a partner in its investment fund team.

Clipstone, has a track record with the offshore investment funds, specialising in investment fund structuring, equity fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and group reorganisations. Ogier’s Guernsey team were recently Guernsey legal counsel to the launch of a £202m music IPO fund, and are ranked in the top tier by IFLR.

Skipton International
Skipton International has made five new appointments in Guernsey amid growing demand for its services from islanders and British expatriates.

Nathan Machan, Linda Johansen and Claudia D’Arcy have joined the bank as mortgage administrators, assisting with customers’ mortgage enquiries and working alongside the underwriting team to process mortgage applications.

Natalie Cutts-Watson and Shirley Gardner have been appointed as new banking customer advisors, with Skipton highlighting its commitment to providing a personal service.

Investoo Group has named James Beale as Chief Finance Officer. He has almost two decades of experience in different financial positions.

Beale will be responsible for building a strong financial accounting function, developing and optimising all elements of financial stewardship. As part of the executive team, he will also help shape the strategic direction of the firm. Investoo Group is one of the largest financial lead generation company in the world.

Transamerica Life Bermuda
Transamerica Life Bermuda has hired former Credit Suisse Trust executive Nicholas Kourteff to lead its Singapore business.

Kourteff joins the high-net-worth (HNW) insurance provider after serving as head of product management insurance solutions at Credit Suisse since 2016. Transamerica Life Bermuda is part of the Aegon Group, an international insurance, pensions and asset management company with headquarters in the Netherlands.

Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) has made a string of hires across both its UK equity and fixed income desks.

Equity analyst Claudia Ho joins the business’ UK small-and mid-cap team from Pelham Capital. Patty Cao will join the company’s bond team as an assistant portfolio manager, while Przemyslaw Pietraszek joins as credit analyst.

“This group of hires adds to our continued development of an investment-led, specialised asset management business that offers differentiated investment strategies,” said Richard Buxton, chief executive of OMGI.

Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse has decided to create more regional units at the International Wealth Management (IWM) division and to yield more powers to local managers.

Claudio de Sanctis, the current head of IWM Europe, will leave the company to become head of Europe at Deutsche Bank Wealth Management.

In Europe, IWM will create a Northern European region run by Emma Crystal, a Southern European region led by Inigo Martos. The Emerging Europe region will continue to be run by Robert Cielen.

Union Bancaire Privée
Union Bancaire Privée has snatched Afred Tsai from rival BNP Paribas.

Tsai is joining Swiss bank Union Bancaire Privée as part of their senior management in the region, the person said. His hire is expected to bolster the bank’s footprint in northern Asia and help attract other China bankers into the fold.
